Wonderful Day in West Seattle.

Yesterday was by far one of the best days I have had since Payton was born, even one of the best days I have EVER had! We started our day at Eastlake Community Church (eastlakecc.com) I love it there, it was so nice to see people I haven't seen in a while. Ryan's sermon was awesome, church in general was just wonderful. It was a perfect Seattle summer day outside (78 & sunny). After church we came home so we could change & get Payton's stuff together. We left and drove to West Seattle, always sort of a trek...It was actually Payton's first time on the westside (the city of Seattle that is). My parents belong to the McCrae wine club & the owners were having a tasting at their home. We arrived at their adorable West Seattle Craftsman style home (circa 1930), it was so adorable with this perfect porch. I am not a wine person, I think it's awful if you ask me but Austin & the parents really love it so they were thrilled that it's all you can drink tasting & Susan, the owner even makes food for everyone. I seriously sat with Payton on that porch for over 2 hours & it was so nice! After that we drove to Alki, because of course West Seattle is so out of the way that if I was going to drive all the way there we were going to eat at Alki! We ate at Dukes & had seafood of course it was just such a gorgeous perfect night out! After dinner we went for a walk along the boardwalk on the beach, it was just perfect! We finally came home to the most beautiful sunset (picture taken in my backyard: above) I LOVE LOVE LOVE Seattle, there is no better place to live & I can't wait to be back!

7 weeks!

So our sweet little Paytie is 7 weeks tomorrow so I thought it was time to update the blog! She's gotten so big (stats later), she's gained at least 2+ lbs. & grown 2 1/2" at least, she started smiling which is SO much fun, it's not constant yet but it makes it even more fun when she does decide to smile. Her favorite things are playing on her playmat & laying in the big bed with mommy & daddy :) She's super strong & getting stronger all the time. We are in Seattle for the first time with her, she did A-MAZING on the plane, I am pretty sure I have the best baby EVER! She's so good & is just a super happy baby, we are having so much fun with her. Bentley was a big worry for us but so far he's just been so good with her! We'll update a little later, here's some pix of her over the last several weeks!

Welcome Payton Grace Woods

So yesterday, June 18, 2009 will now go down in history as an exhausting but amazing day! I woke up at 2 am and had quite a lot a of bleeding Austin & I rushed to the hospital & they did several tests & weren't sure what was wrong after a lot of walking a lot of deliberation the doctors decided to induce me. Since I tested positive for strep B they needed to give me at least four hours of antibiotics. So they started me on the antibiotics and a little later started me on petocin for the induction. They then came in and asked if I wanted my epidural, I was like "seriously? yea!" so they gave me that, I just thought that the contractions were like the cramps I normally get on my period, turns out I get pretty bad cramps! Anyways, I got the epidural & they checked me, I was 4 cm. when they checked, about 2 hours later they came in & checked I was 10 cm. Ten pushes later & out came my sweetie pie. She's amazing, beautiful, sweet & she loves her daddy & her hands. I love her so much! She weighed 7 lbs. 5. oz, was 19 1/2 inches born at 2:31pm.

38 weeks.

So tomorrow I will be 38 weeks, so yea I am jumping the gun a little...give me a break I am totally impatient & I am basically 38 weeks so just play along. So I am beyond ready, this is out of control, can she just come out already? Austin & I went to our toddler class picnic today & I got to hold Sam's little sister, Emily, she's only 7 lbs. & I was holding her thinking 'this is what's inside me right now' & it made me even more ready! The toddler picnic was so much fun because I got to hang out with 'my' kiddo's without having to be the montessori class nazi...it was also nice to be able to really talk to all the parents, they are all so nice! Anyways, I got lots of good advice & was reassured that labor isn't 'that bad'; we'll see about that! Anyways, I am so uncomfortable & Austin & I are both just ready meet little Harlow, pray she comes really soon!!

36 Week Checkup

I went to the "Doctor" (it was really a nurse) a few days ago for my 36 week checkup. Everything looks good, she's in position & hopefully this means she'll make an appearance a little early if I am lucky! The nurse has been doing her job since '75 so longer than I have been alive by 7 years! She said she's never seen a baby that is that active at 36 weeks, I guess she was bending her knee & fully extending several times & this is crazy for this late in pregnancy! She also made a comment about how it looks like she has really long legs, clearly something she got from Austin, lucky girl...hopefully this doesn't mean she's huge! I have gained 16 lbs. so far & they didn't say anything about my weight so I guess it's ok! I will take pictures in a couple weeks, after I get my hair done!

33 weeks update

Harlow is starting to get very strong & I am huge! I have still only gained 14.5 lbs. but have been eating like a crazy person, hopefully the doctor is ok with my weight! I go to the doc in about 2 weeks. I am super uncomfortable & hoping that memorial day will be the day she decides to come out & play! Austin & I are trying to get our apartment in shape before the baby comes but with no storage it's been really hard to organize & it's making me insane, it feels like I live in a storage unit! I am putting up the most recent photo...

Preggo Update.

So I will be 32 weeks on Monday...I feel like I have been pregnant forever! Work is starting to get really hard & I am achy A LOT! I can't wait to start wearing cute clothes again & I am really looking forward to getting back into shape & going to yoga again! I mean seriously, I get fatigued folding laundry...like are you serious!? It's a little ridiculous! I am really ready to meet my baby girl & see what she looks like. I have also been reassured by my doctor that they won't let me have a 9 lb. baby let alone another Austin so I am feeling much better about that! Harlow has been kicking a lot & actually kicked Austin in the head pretty hard the other night (he was trying to hear her)...She must not have liked the pressure on her & she kicked him, it was pretty funny! The weird picture above looks like my tummy is cone-like, it's really not but it's the one we took so there you have it!
